We, employees want to balance work with the rest of the activities we wish to pursue in life. Work-Life Balance is scheduling and putting into priority each of your various work and personal activities.
A work-life balance should be able to attain these two: Achievement and enjoyment. We should enjoy the journey of trying to achieve our goals in life.
We all have different aspects in our life besides work, those are: family, friends, spirituality, personal growth, self-care, and other personal activities.
Some people struggle in trying to keep the work-life balance. It takes the right mindset, drive and positivity to attain these simple tips below -- understand what the 'balance' in work-life balance means to you.
1. Look Inside Yourself
I believe that the first thing people need to do is identify what truly matters to them and communicate with it. From time to time, pause and acknowledge your feelings. Change and correct what's wrong, give yourself a break, reward yourself, appreciate yourself. Now's the time to let go of those bad feelings -- and perhaps also the people who bring out negativity in you. Don't hold back in cutting toxic people from your life.
2. Exercise and meditate
Exercise leads to relaxation which sparks curiosity, curiosity sparks creativity & innovation. It's hard to make time for exercise when you have a jam-packed schedule but if you find the time to exercise -- Do. It pumps feel-good endorphins through your body. No one has ever felt bad about exercising.
3. Let Go and Say No
Identify what’s most important in your life, and filter it. Pick out the most important tasks for you to do, delegate some others and let the rest go. Learn to say no to the unnecessary things in life that cause you stress.
4. Enjoy Your Life
The most overlooked of the work-life balance: Don't waste your precious moments feeling guilty or worrying about work projects and overthinking about what-ifs and should-haves that you can't control. When you are on vacation, be on vacation. Allow yourself the freedom. Live every moment to the fullest!
